WICHITA FALLS, TX – JANUARY 17, 2025
The 2024 Workforce Solutions North Texas Impact Report is here!
The 2024 Impact Report showcases our efforts in career support, employer services, and child care across our 11-county region. Our goal is to help you succeed by offering a variety of free services and resources.
Investment and Achievements
From October 2023 to September 2024, we invested $14,370,700 into local job seekers, employers, and the economy. This funding allowed us to assist 9,431 individuals through career development programs. We also engaged with the community by organizing 48 hiring events, reaching 1,840 job seekers and 463 employers.
Success Story
Crystal S., a single mother who was recently laid off, visited our Workforce Career Center. Through our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program, she completed the Court Reporting Certification at Vernon College. Crystal expressed, “Completing this program is going to change my life! I appreciate all the help so much. I could not have finished without the support from WIOA.” With the guidance of her WIOA case manager, she graduated and secured a job with a salary above the self-sufficiency wage.
New Initiatives
During the summer of 2024, we placed 27 career education teachers in externships within their industries. This initiative is designed to bring current industry knowledge into classrooms, helping better prepare our youth.
We also introduced 16 Career Stations in rural libraries throughout North Texas. These stations include computers with internet access, Microsoft Office, printers, and other resources for job searches and career development. This project was funded by an Innovation Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
Child Care Services
As of January 2025, our Child Care Services team supports 1,201 children and collaborates with 77 contracted providers, with 35 Texas Rising Star quality providers.
