Workforce Solutions North Texas Awarded Workforce Innovation Fund Grant
Workforce Solutions North Texas is proud to have been named a Workforce Innovation Fund grantee during the 2025 Texas Workforce Conference! This $250,000 grant seeks to award new and innovative workforce development projects designed by the Workforce Development Boards.
“North Texas is incredibly proud to have been chosen and awarded the Workforce Innovation Fund grant by the Texas Workforce Commission,” said Lisa McDaniel, Workforce Solutions North Texas Executive Director. “We look forward to implementing our ideas after the first of the year to expand career exploration.”
Workforce Solutions North Texas will use the Workforce Innovation Fund to build a tool utilizing existing 360º imaging technology seen most often in the real estate and construction industries and apply it to high-demand industry worksites. Picture this: instead of walking through a house for sale, students and educators will be able to walk through worksites otherwise inaccessible to the public or underage students. As they virtually walk through a space, they will explore real-world environments across various key industries and see pop-ups explaining tools and fixtures visible in the workspace.
Each virtual tour will provide insights into job responsibilities, necessary skills, and educational pathways, enabling individuals to make informed career and training decisions. This proactive approach fosters early awareness and strengthens the connection between education, training, and employer expectations. Through this alignment, the next generation of workers is not only informed about available opportunities but also equipped with the skills and credentials that employers value most.
